Martez Brown #2
1.) A totally protective government is a government in which it must keep everyone safe no matter what. The government must know everything that goes on in everyone's life, even everything that each individual person is doing in the world.
2.) I think that a totally protective government should not be apart of our society because if it were then in order for the government to keep us safe from everything, they must know everything, and in order for this to happen many of our rights that we have as citizens will be stripped away from us.
3.) If a totally protective government were used then it would of prevented the 12 gang related shootings that took place in Chicago in only 4 hours, because if we have a totally protective government then they would have stopped any kind of gang activity from forming, which would have then prevented the shootings.

In this scene of Minority Report a camera angle was taken from behind and was then slowly and smoothly zoomed into focus on not Anthony Anderson, but the advanced interface that was being used in this futuristic environment. The zoom was made in this scene on the interface to show how Anthony's hand movements directly correlated with the projection that he was looking at, this camera angle was also chosen to show how advanced in technology this movie really was.
In the scene towards the end of the movie, where Lamar is talking to Lara about the murder of Anne Lively, there is a camera technique that is used which is a close up on Lamar's face. This techniques was used because they wanted to show the emotion of Lamar because throughout the movie he has played the good guy, but now he has now slipped up and told on himself about knowing Anne Lively. It shows in his face from the close up that he is now worried, scared, and regretful about letting something so small slip out of his mouth, which now puts everything that he tried to keep secret in jeopardy.
In the movie pre-cogs were used in order to see future crimes in order to prevent them from happening. In every scene that pre-cogs were in there was always the color of light blue being shown, from the water, the bed in which they were resting on, the caps and wires on their heads, and even the color of their eyes. The color light blue represents truth, intelligence, and softness. These characteristics describe the pre-cogs because they only tell the truth of the future, their intelligent because they have been given this gift, and they are soft because they do not harm anyone.
In this scene of the movie a camera angle is taken through the circular metal band to show a concentration on one subject. The subject in this camera angle is the man that they are arresting for the pre-murder of his wife. You can tell that this man is the subject because as he is walking out the door trying to defend himself from getting arrested, the halo and camera follows him until he is carried out of the room.
In this scene of the movie where everyone notices the movie that is revealing Lamar's secrets a wide camera angle is taken. This camera angle is taken to show everyone in the scene as well as Lamar, to show how everyone else realizes the movie that is being played, that showed who Lamar really was, but how Lamar is still oblivious to the movie's existence.
In this movie pre-cogs were used as items to see murders before they ever happened. Any murder that they saw in the future always came true. They were then taken advantage of in order to stop people from committing murders before they even happened. The environment that the pre-cogs lived in was in water in a very dark room with little light. From a medical perspective you could not do this because people could not sit inside all day everyday without sunlight, also laying in water everyday is not good for their skin.

The film
Minority Report addresses several themes having to do with science and
technology. My favorite scene in the film addresses technology and it is
the one where the spiders are in the apartment building and they are searching
for Chief Anderton. The spiders are independently intelligent and they
figure out unique ways to tell if there is a "warm" body in the room
or not. This scene gives a good picture of technology in the future and
also makes one think about the privacy issue that has become so important
to every American citizen.
